Description: Steel Grey Graniteis a coarse-grained, dark grey gabbro quarried in Gurujepalli & Chilakaluripeta, Ongole, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India. This stone internationally may be nominated as a granite. For the US and Chinese market this is correct however in the area of application of the European Standard this stone must be nominated as gabbro.
Gabbro: Steel Grey Granite is a dark-colored, coarse-grained intrusive igneous rock. Gabbro is very similar to basalt in its mineral make up. It is composed mostly of the mineral plagioclase feldspar with smaller amounts of pyroxene and olivine.

This material has a dark grey to black/brown background with occasional smaller and lighter grey and/or light to dark grey crystal structure extremely common. For large projects ensure that the blocks are all extracted from the same quarry for matching purposes.
Even First Choice material will have lines and veins. It is quite common to use a resin filler in Steel Grey Granite to give a more smooth feel to the surface. |

It is mainly used for flooring, cladding, kitchen counters and table tops. Steel Grey Granite looks good with a gloss polish however it is also available flamed, river-washed and honed. Available in both slabs and tiles. |
