Description: Bros Blue Granite is a fine-grained, blue-grey gneiss of the Precambrian period with striking light blue veining and sometimes with small red garnets. Bros Blue Granite internationally may be nominated as a granite. For the US and Chinese market this is correct according to but in the area of application of the European Standard this stone must be nominated as gneiss.

Gneiss: A common and widely distributed type of rock formed by high-grade regional metamorphic processes from pre-existing formations that were originally either igneous or sedimentary rocks. Gneissic rocks are usually medium to coarse-foliated and largely recrystallized but do not carry large quantities of micas, chlorite or other platy minerals. Gneisses that are metamorphosed igneous rocks or their equivalent are termed granite gneisses, diorite gneisses, etc.

Bros Blue Granite : Technical Specifications

Description Bros Blue Granite is a fine-grained, blue-grey gneiss of the Precambrian period with striking light blue veining and sometimes with small red garnets plus grey and/or light to dark blue heavy veining extremely common. There is only one quarry of Bros Blue granite and the colour and veining can vary considerably. For large projects ensure that the blocks are all extracted from the same quarry face for matching purposes.
Even First Choice material will have lines and veins. It is quite common to use a resin filler in Bros Blue Granite to give a more smooth feel to the surface. Bros Blue granite may absorb liquid therefore a good quality sealer should be tested before using as a work surface.
General Usage Bros Blue Granite is mainly used for flooring, cladding, kitchen counters and table tops. It looks good with a gloss polish however it is also available flamed, river-washed and honed. Available in both slabs and tiles.
