Description: Black Galaxy Granite is a fine to medium-grained, black gabbro of the Precambrian period with golden-yellow sparkling broncite scales. Black Galaxy Granite internationally may be nominated as a granite however in the area of application of the European Standard this stone must be nominated as gabbro.
Gabbro: A dark-coloured, coarse-grained intrusive igneous rock. Gabbro is very similar to basalt in its mineral make up. It is composed mostly of the mineral plagioclase feldspar with smaller amounts of pyroxene and olivine.
